FREE Entrance to Open Training Session of Poland National Team!!!

12 Jun

In my previous post, I mentioned that I didn’t manage to get the ticket for the Open Training Session of Poland National Team. I was too late by the time I reached Polonia Stadium. But on my second attempt, which was this morning, my friend and I managed to get 2 free entrance tickets each!

I actually had my Pathomorph FINAL exam today at 4pm, and it wasn’t actually a good idea to do something else besides some last minute studying or answering past years questions in the morning of the day that you will have your final exam. But I went anyway. The counter opened at 9am but we were adviced to be there around 7am.

Fortunately, my friend got exempted from the exam so she queued from 7am and I only went there at 8.30am. And the best thing is, my apartment is only 5 minutes away from the Polonia Stadium.

Apart from the two free tickets, I also received two cards, one with the group picture of Poland National Team with their signatures on the back and the other one with a picture of any of the players. I was lucky enough to received Robert Lewandowski card. On my way back to my appartment, two Polish girls approached my friend and I asking if we got Lewandowski card and wanted to exchange theirs with mine. Sorry girls, gotta keep it :D

Polonia Stadium, where the Poland National Team will be training tomorrow

So, updates for today, Poland scored 1-1 against Russia. It was not so bad because there were rumours saying that Russia is a strong team and Poland will probably not have the chance of winning. But look, although Russia scored a goal in the first-half of the match, Poland managed to make it a draw in the second-half. I think the Poland players did well compared to when they played against Greece.

After the exam, I went around the Warsaw Fan Zone and also in some part of Old Town with my housemate to take some pictures. There were riot police around, controlling the situation. This is due to the tension brought between the two team supporters because the Russians made a march towards the National Stadium of Warsaw.

I bought the Polska muffler near the Fan Zone and put it on. Some locals even smiled at me, maybe they were happy to see some foreigner supporting their team? It was..euphoric. I was excited and a little bit scared at the same time.

When we finally got back, we watched the match between Poland and Russia on live stream. Oh yeah, our Pathomorph lecturers made a surprise by publishing the result today, they said earlier that the result would probably be out tomorrow evening. Most of us passed, I passed, alhamdulillah :)

Right now, I can still hear the Poland supporters cheering on the street singing the Biało Czerwoni  anthem. Ok, till next time! Polska…biało czerwoni! Go white eagles!
